Who can use online banking?
Anyone who has a checking or savings account can bank online. All you need is a computer and an internet service provider
(ISP); also a Web browser 3.0 or higher is required.
When can I use online banking?
You can make transactions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.*
*Note: Any day the bank is closed, transactions will not be processed until the next day we are open.
How safe is my money when making online transactions?
Here at Morgantown Bank & Trust we have taken all precautions to protect our customers and the bank. We have placed
together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for the bank and for you, our customer. It
features password-controlled system entry, a VeriSign-issued Digital ID for the bank's server, Secure Socket Layers (SSL)
protocol for data encryption, and a router loaded with a firewall to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic.
We use three strikes you're out method. Anyone entering a wrong password three times will be locked out of any account
information. This protects your information if anyone is trying to gain access to your account by guessing at your ID or
password. If you have been locked out, you must contact the bank to be reset.
Once the server session is established, the user and the server are in a secured environment. Because the server has been
certified as a 128-bit secure server by VeriSign, data traveling between the user and the server is encrypted with Secure
Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. With SSL, data that travels between the bank and customer is encrypted (scrambled) and can only
be decrypted (unscrambled) with the public and private key pair. In short, the bank's server issued a public key to the end
user's browser and creates a temporary private key. These two keys are the only combination possible for that session. When
the session is complete, the keys expire and the whole process starts over when a new end user makes a server session.
Requests must filter through a router and firewall before they are permitted to reach the server. A router (a piece of
hardware) works in conjunction with the firewall (a piece of software) to block and direct traffic coming to the server. The
configuration begins by disallowing ALL traffic and then opens holes only when necessary to process acceptable data requests,
such as retrieving web pages or sending customer requests to the bank. Using the above technologies, your Internet banking
transactions are secure.
How do I enroll?
Click on the enroll button. Please fill out the form and click on submit. You must have a checking or savings account with
Morgantown Bank & Trust to enroll. In several days you will receive a password and Login ID. Once you get this information,
you can Login and access your account information. You will be forced to change your password the first time you log in. We
suggest using numerical and alphabetical combinations for your password. Also change it often to ensure added protection.
Protect your password and do not write it down and put it near your computer.
Why can't I pull up your website?
You must have a browser 3.0 or higher. If you're having trouble connecting or it is slow, it could be that your service
provider is experiencing high traffic volume at that time.
How do I update my browser?
To update your browser you first need to get online and go to Netscape.com or Microsoft.com for Internet Explorer,
whichever you use. You have to upgrade by downloading the next version. It should be 4.0, once finished, download the 5.0
version. This should allow your computer to run faster and handle the encryption levels that are used on our web page. This is
the only free way to upgrade your browser.
