Protection of Your Privacy

Your choice to do business with us is an important decision. We take our obligation to keep information about you and your accounts secure and confidential very seriously. This notice provides detail about the information we collect and disclose, and explains how we handle privacy as it relates to you and your accounts.

Accuracy of Information

Every effort is made to ensure our records of your information are complete and correct. If an error is noted on your statement or in any other communication from us, please contact us at the number listed on your account materials as soon as possible.

The Collection and Use of Information

Morgantown Bank and Trust collects nonpublic personal information about you, such as date of birth, credit history, Social Security number and address from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us or others;
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency; and
  • Information we receive thru website “cookies” (used only to help authenticate our customers’ identities’ and to help facilitate the exchange of information between our website).

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law, such as sending information returns to the Internal Revenue Service, responding to subpoenas and providing information to consumer reporting agencies; i.e. credit bureaus.

We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.

Morgantown Bank and Trust limits access to your personal and account information only to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. It also maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program

Our institution has elected to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.  Under that program, through Dec 31, 2010, all non-interest bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
